Tyler Middleton

Camp Director & Founder


Tyler is the visionary behind BZEC. He is passionate about nature and sharing that passion with others. Tyler’s experience includes teaching and coaching in both Costa Rica and Southern California for nearly 7 years. Tyler has worked with youth of all ages, ranging from preschool aged children to high schoolers. Tyler most recently served as the head coach for the boys and girls waterpolo and swim teams at Marina Highschool in Huntington Beach, CA. Previously, Tyler worked as a physical education teacher and swim coach at Centro Educativo Futuro Verde, an international private school in Cobano, a neighboring town near Montezuma. Tyler earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a minor in business at Whittier College in Los Angeles, CA. Tyler currently lives in Huntington Beach, CA with his wife, Jennifer, his son Atlas, and two dogs, Ramesess and Cleopatra.

Jennifer Middleton

Camp Director & Founder


Jennifer is currently a Middle school science teacher in Huntington Beach, CA. Jennifer has worked in the field of education for nearly 7 years and is passionate about learning and helping children. Jennifer taught English and science to students in Costa Rica for nearly 2 years at Centro Educativo Futuro Verde, alongside her husband who also taught there. Jennifer studied at the Univeristy of California, Irvine, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and social behavior with a minor in education. Jennifer also received her teaching credential from UCI.

Mike Driver

Camp Business Manager


Mike is a small business owner and entrepreneur in Southern California. Mike has spent much of his off hours dedicated to youth sports. He has been a manager and coach for Girls Travel Fastpitch Softball team working with players ages ranging from 10-18 years old. He also served as Booster Club President for High School Softball Team.

Linda Marroquin

Camp Services Manager


Linda started her teaching career as elementary school teacher and later as a high school teacher educating disadvantaged youth in Los Angeles County. Linda ran youth camp programs for her local church and led the group to participate in community outreach programs such as Habitat for Humanity. She transitioned to the private sector as an internal trainer for a large automobile manufacturing company. Linda is fluent in Spanish and has traveled to over 30 countries.
